MeeGo is an open source, Linux project which brings together the Moblin project, headed up by Intel, and Maemo, by Nokia, into a single open source activity.

This MeeGo Seminar Summer 2010 is a part of the activity, and our speakers from Intel, Nokia, and other partners are going to speak about "What is MeeGo, and what business opportunities are ahead of us?" from both business and technology perspectives. The seminar targets Japanese companies in the potential industries, such as mobile and embedded devices, car-infotainment systems, applications, and development communities.

About MeeGo

MeeGo is an open source, Linux project which brings together the Moblin project, headed up by Intel, and Maemo, by Nokia, into a single open source activity. MeeGo integrates the experience and skills of two significant development ecosystems, versed in communications and computing technologies. It is believed that these two pillars form the technical foundations for next generation platforms and usages in the mobile and device platforms space.

Those efforts in development of this project are going to be integrated into the Linuxmain stream Kernel, and are expected to contribute to the expansion of mobile market. For application development, the open source GUI libraries, "Qt", is available for MeeGo, so that developers will be able to take advantage of the application environment which enable the developers to create applications for a wide range of devices, as well as providing their users to access hundreds of applications through Nokia's Ovi application store.
