Regional Content and Services for Splashtop and MeeGo

Speaker: Cliff MillerChief Strategy Officer, DeviceVM Inc.
Abstract:For the past year, DeviceVM has been signing agreements at a brisk pace with content and services providers of online gaming, ebook, news, ecommerce, and SNS services.  We have begun to integrate these into the Splashtop desktop -- and now into MeeGo.  Depending upon the language setting of the end-user, various regional services are made available in order to provide the most suitable user experience.
In the US, for example, where Facebook is enormously popular, we are integrating Facebook services into the desktop, and present one-click access to Zynga games.  In Japan, we have recently announced an agreement with Vector to provide online games, and we are working with Japanese SNS, content and services companies to provide a user experience that is tailored to the customs of Japanese Internet users.
We expect worldwide shipments of Splashtop to exceed 100 million units in 2010, with roughly 4-5% of those in Japan.  In the following months, these integrated contents and services will begin to appear in new Internet devices from our OEM partners.
