Each part of The Linux Foundation Open Source Summit brings part of the open source community to the table, providing a holistic overview of the industry:

LinuxCon
The event where the leading maintainers, developers and project leads in the Linux community and from around the world gather together for updates, education, collaboration and problem-solving to further the Linux ecosystem. Attendees learn from the best and the brightest as they are gathered together under one roof to deliver cutting edge presentations and demos, lively discussions and collaboration on a wide variety of Linux topics.

ContainerCon
Containers are revolutionizing the way workloads are automated, deployed and scaled, and ContainerCon is the place to learn about how to best use these technologies. From hardware virtualization to storage to software defined networking, containers are helping to drive a cloud native approach. The leading experts in both the development and operations community will come together to share ideas and best practices for how containers are shaping computing today and in the future with a focus on DevOps culture, automation, portability and efficiency. The goal of the event is to bring companies on the leading edge together with users and developers to continue to innovate on the delivery of open source infrastructure.

CloudOpen
CloudOpen is the only event providing space for education and collaboration designed specifically to advance the open cloud. It is a conference celebrating and gathering together the open source projects, products, technologies, and companies that comprise the cloud and are driving the cloud, big data and networking ecosystems of today and tomorrow. The event gathers top professionals to discuss cloud platforms, automation and management tools, DevOps, virtualization, containers, software-defined networking, storage & filesystems, big data tools and platforms, open source best practices, and much more.

Community Leadership Conference (North America and Europe only)
The Community Leadership Conference provides world-class content and networking for building empowered and productive open source communities. The event provides presentations, tutorials, panel discussions, and networking opportunities that bring together some of the leading practitioners to share their expertise in how to build powerful communities. Whether its focus is on collaborative workflow, licensing, governance, outreach, messaging, social media, or anything else, there is sure to be content and conversation that will bring value to any organization or project. The Community Leadership Conference is led by Jono Bacon, a global leader in community strategy and management, author of The Art of Community, and community leadership consultant to many organizations including Huawei, HackerOne, Microsoft, GitLab, Creative Commons, Sony Mobile, ClusterHQ, and others.

“As open source continues to grow and expand into new areas such as hardware, data, IOT, standards, and beyond, having an accessible, productive community strategy is critical for success”, Bacon says. He continues, “I am excited to launch the Community Leadership Conference as part of the Open Source Summit to support the continued evolution of community leadership and the success of those who practice it.”

“In recent years, open source has expanded to be the default software in virtually every area of technology, so it is important that the broad community have a place to gather and exchange ideas,” said Linux Foundation Executive Director Jim Zemlin. “The Linux Foundation Open Source Summit will gather the best and brightest from every corner of open source technology together for an event where they can collaborate and share best practices.”

Registration for The Linux Foundation Open Source Summit Japan, North America and Europe will open in December. Organizations interested in sponsoring these events can download a prospectus from http://events.linuxfoundation.org/sponsor.
