I‚Äôm pleased to report this morning on the formation of a new advocacy group for the use of free and open source software in the U.S. Government. The Linux Foundation is a founding member, and Jim Zemlin and I have been asked to serve on its Board of Advisors, along other proponents of free and open source software, such as Roger Burkhard, Dawn Meyerriecks, Eben Moglen, Tim O‚ÄôReilly, Simon Phipps, Mark Shuttleworth, Michael Tiemann, and Bill Vass…
Founded in 2000, the Linux Foundation is supported by more than 1,000 members and is the world’s leading home for collaboration on open source software, open standards, open data, and open hardware. Linux Foundation’s projects are critical to the world’s infrastructure including Linux, Kubernetes, Node.js, and more.
