The Linux Foundation Announces Agenda for LinuxCon and ContainerCon Europe

ContainerCon comes to Europe for the first time alongside LinuxCon, offering opportunities to collaborate, share and learn from open source leaders

SAN FRANCISCO, July 21, 2016 – The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit advancing professional open source management for mass collaboration, today announced the agenda for LinuxCon and ContainerCon Europe, taking place October 4-6 in Berlin, Germany. The event will offer unparalleled open source technical content for technologists of all levels and a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Linux.

Speakers and sessions at LinuxCon + ContainerCon Europe will cover the most important topics in open source development today, including containers, networking, security, cloud applications, the Linux kernel and more.

Keynote speakers previously announced include:

  • Brian Behlendorf, executive director of the Hyperledger Project and founder of the Apache Software Foundation

  • Solomon Hykes, founder, CTO and chief product officer at Docker

  • Jilayne Lovejoy, open source attorney at ARM

  • Colin McNamara, director of the DevOps practice, Dimension Data

  • Stormy Peters, vice president of developer relations, Cloud Foundry Foundation

  • Christopher Schlaeger, director kernel and operating systems, Amazon Development  

Center Germany

  • Jim Zemlin, executive director of The Linux Foundation

LinuxCon + ContainerCon Europe will feature more than 180 sessions, including keynotes; deep technical sessions, with new content on the latest kernel updates, DevOps, professional open source management, networking, hypervisors/virtualization, storage technologies and interfaces, security, Internet of Things; talks related to open source collaboration and best practices; and bonus tutorials on Friday, October 7. ContainerCon, which has previously only taken place in North America, comes to Europe this year to gather leaders in the development and deployment of containers and the Linux kernel to innovate on the delivery of open source infrastructure.

For the first time, this year Embedded Linux Conference Europe will take place separately from LinuxCon, and will instead be co-located with the all new OpenIoT Summit Europe. These events will take place October 11-13, 2016, at the Maritim Hotel in Berlin, Germany. Speaker and agenda information for ELC + OpenIoT Summit Europe will be announced next week.
